It's Time for you to ride in God's Express Lane!

 

While I was riding to my destination I decided to ride in the Express Lane. I very rarely take the Express Lane due to the amount of money it cost for one person. I also usually don’t have my children with me on my way to important events so I wouldn’t be able to pay the cheaper price. While riding in the Express Lane God spoke to me. The message he gave was that “ It’s time to ride in my Express Lane.”

 

Before it’s time for you to exit on the Express Lane there are signs that state what Express Lane is coming up and how much it cost. So God is telling you your Express Lane is coming up and he’s telling you what his cost is. God said that I must pay the price to ride in his Express Lane. The Express Lane isn’t for just anybody it's for those who want to pay for a shortcut to their destination. The price that God wants you to pay  to ride in his Express Lane is to be Faithful and Obedient. While riding in the express lane I was unfamiliar with the route. I was unfamiliar with the exit signs. I was unfamiliar with the new rules.

 

While riding in the Express Lane there are still rules you must follow the first one is you have to pay the price. You may have entered the express lane with some extra people these people allowed you to  pay a cheaper price. At some point God is going to say those people have served their purpose drop them off at the nearest exit. Then I want you to pay a higher price to ride in my Express Lane. I want you to ride by yourself Luke 12:48 says that  "To whom much is given much is required. " There are something's that only you can do for God. Something's you have to accomplish by yourself or with fewer people for God to get the Glory.

The second rule is you have to go the speed limit and third rule is stay in your lane. So while riding in the Express Lane I was traveling at 60 mph and the speed limit was 75mph. Other cars were passing me at a fast pace and I noticed that I was going slow. I saw that the sign said 75mph God said go the speed that the sign tells you. God said go the speed that I SAID go. Why are you in the Express Lane going 60 mph ? Why are you in the Lane I made for you get to your destination faster going slower than you were on the normal freeway. I said ok God. I will go the speed you want me to go. Then God told me to read the signs in other words to be obedient  to his voice and his word. I was taking a route that I was unfamiliar with and I had to put complete trust in him.

 

  God also showed me that people were becoming inpatient in the other lanes and merging onto the Express Lane.  I want you to know that there are some people that you will run into on the Express Lane who decided that they don’t want to pay the price they just want a quick way to success. They listened to God just enough to make a exit then got in his Express Lane and went  80 mph or 90 mph or even 100 mph. No one told them to go that fast they have lost sight of the rules.

They are traveling at a dangerous speed that can harm not only their self but others. They will take advantage of others and do just about anything to get higher. They may be Christian they may not be. Either way watch for the people who don’t belong in the Express Lane. You will notice that they don’t have a sticker on their car. In other words they are not righteous men and women of God. You will notice that they are constantly switching lanes and swerving everywhere. It’s this simple they are not suppose to be there so don’t become distracted by them. Know that police patrol the Express Way and they are not above the law. No one is above God's law and at some point he will pull them over. Until then keep your eyes on the signs listen to Gods voice and look for your exit. 

God has a Express Lane for you. He telling you to the exit is coming up.. he’s telling the price you must pay. What are you going to do when it’s time to make your exit?On the Express Way there are signs telling you when it’s time to exit the Express Lane. I had to follow those directions otherwise I would end up taking the wrong exit and the last thing I needed was a detour.

God wants us to follow the signs on the Express Way. He wants us to follow his voice in Jeremiah 29:11 he says “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a Future." He told me "you see your exit so stay in the far lane until it’s time". At one point I was riding in the lane closest to the nearest exit. Then God said get over a few lanes you have a while before you exit... enjoy the ride let your hair down.

Follow the signs . Follow my voice. Trust me. Proverbs 3:5-6 says to“ Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not unto your understanding in always acknowledge him and he will direct your paths." While riding in the Express Lane I looked over to my right and saw traffic was backed up. I saw cars barely moving and I looked in front of me and I saw no traffic and I was traveling at 75 mph. Nothing was slowing me down. Nothing was stopping me. God had created a shortcut for me! A shortcut for me to bypass everyone else and to reach my destination via the his Express Lane.

 

 

At some point  God is going to say it’s time for you to enter onto the Express Way.  My question to you is When God tells you to take the Express Lane are you willing to pay his price? I want you to know that I'm going to take his Express Lane and I'm going to be Faithful and Obedient.

Brian T. Banks, reached a point in his life that the question "What am I doing" began to grow louder and louder. The answers were not easy to find but over time they became clear to him. The principles that he live by came from spending time with God and  understanding the word. This foundation has helped him to succeed in business as well as a husband and family man. 1. Tell us about the Power Your Way to Success Conference?

My wife started an organization named "Women Building Wealth Globally", I was one of the original supporters of this and quickly moved on to a bigger role. The conference is a part of what W.B.W.G. does to help provide tools and training to entrepreneurs. 

2. What subject will you cover at the event?

The subject that I will cover at the Power Your Way to Success Conference will be Mobil Media & Leadership. These are two subjects that I am truly passionate about.

3. What do you hope others will gain from attending the conference?

I hope they walk away with the knowledge of how to operate in the current business environment; using many of the tools that we provide. I personally believe that it's important to be educated in the fields of social media, mobile marketing and networking.

4. Why is it important that business owners attend seminars and conferences?

It's important that business owners attend seminars and conferences for continued growth. No one knows it all and there is never a time when we will have it all sorted out. If your looking for a competitive edge you have to go and seek out additional information. You have to constantly educate yourself and through our seminars we provide the tools/ resources needed for you to be successful.

 

 

5. What advice can you give business owners who are on the verge of giving up?

The easy answer is don't, but it's really deeper than that. First evaluate your self and your business by asking yourself one question ," Have I tried everything to be successful?" The most common answer is no because in every business there are so many different strategies/ angles that you couldn't have possibility tried. You have only one life why not live it fighting for what you want instead of giving up on your dreams. The worst thing to me is that you will have regrets later in life.
 

6. What drives you to be successful? 

What drives me to be successful is a promise that I  made to my son, who is no longer with us.  He is the biggest part of my why and I don't want to fall short in his eyes.

7. If it wasn't for __________ you wouldn't have made it this far?

 If it wasn't for my belief that I can "Do more , Be more and more importantly that I am more." I wouldn't have made it this far. There is so much to  life that I want to experience which will require more money and time.

1. Briefly tell us about Woman Building Wealth Globally.

W.B.W.G is an organization whose mission is to empower women to be financially independent. To show women how to not only make a living, but how to live life with purpose. The organization is built on three core principles Opportunity, Vision, and Success. Women Building Wealth Globally provides workshops, seminars, and conferences for both men and women. The conferences cater to entrepreneurs who want to accelerate their business through peak performance strategies.

2. What inspired you to create W.B.W.G.?

I wanted to create a platform for women to be educated on traditional as well as non- traditional business opportunities.

4. I noticed that you and your husband Brian T. Banks are business partners. . he is often seen as one of the speakers for your business seminars. What advice can you give to couples who are business partners? 

Couples can run into complications when in love and in business.  I've discovered you really have know each others place and respect the differences.  My husband and I started our workshop  Faith, Love and Business because we wanted to empower couples to stay in love and stay successful. This is done by finding a balance between Faith , Love and Business. The workshops are created to empower couples with knowledge and skills that have been proven in maintaining extraordinary Relationships.

 

5. Why is it important that W.B.W.G. host seminars for business owners in the community?

Not only are seminars important to educate the community but also provides an opportunity for business owners to connect and network. By connecting with people in your community this allows you to build relationships with people which in turn may produce a business opportunity. I am a servant. It's my passion to connect people and my purpose to empower them.

6. What advice would you give new business owners?

My advice to new business owners would be to make sure they connect with someone that is successful in the industry they are pursuing. I believe that having a mentor is essential in the development of new business owners. It's also important that business owners stay teachable, coachable, and work on their personal/business development. All business owners must network and take the proper actions needed to become successful.  

 

 

7.  What is  Fire Walking? Why is it important to you?

Knowing the secret behind firewalking can improve your life! Even if you never do it yourself, knowing how it works can bring you better health and increased personal power. Why? Because firewalking demonstrates how your thoughts impact everything else in your life.

Star Williams has been blessed with inner strength and a deep passion for building networking connections among women. More than four years ago, she began to form the vision of an organization that would touch the lives of female entrepreneurs from all walks of life and throughout this country. Emerged from her efforts, she began her role as CEO and founder of Power Forward Woman on June 1, 2012.

Our ultimate goal is to help women transform their lives to a level they’ve only dreamed of; mentally, physically, and emotionally. In addition to giving her unrelenting service in the United States Navy for the past 19 years, Mrs. Williams has given in abundance to the community. Valuing each other’s mission and vision we are deliberate when giving of donations to each other’s causes. Continually providing women with the support that they need globally, she has contributed to renowned organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, Home Life (Thailand). Even while serving her country, she received the Military Voluntary Service Award from her community work in countries such as Italy and Korea.

1. Tell us about P.Y.W.F 2015 Woman’s Conference.

Each year Power Forward Woman brings women together from across the globe from diverse backgrounds to empower, encourage, and educate one another.  This is a two day event that was created to focus on the positive aspects of women in business. The event also encourages woman to not only strive for success but encourages woman to build effective relationships.

2. What do you hope that women will gain from this conference?

I hope that women will gain all of the tools and resources needed to push toward their purpose. The tools gained  at the conference can be used in their business and personal life. 

3. What makes this conference different from other women’s conferences?

Our events are different from other women's conferences because we embrace the concept of being our sister's keeper.  We believe that  it is important that we build a strong sisterhood so that we can grow in number and good deeds! 

 4.  Describe the P.Y.W.F Conference in four words.

The four words that I would use to describe the Conference would be Powerful, Motivational, Educational, Inspirational.

5. Tell us briefly about Power Forward Woman.

Over the past years, the networking events went from starting as an organization to becoming a Power Forward Woman Movement! This miraculous Movement  consists of women dedicated to reaching common goals, empowering each other, and empowering our community.  The Power Forward Woman Movement was created on the premise that women across America would be given the opportunity to network and share their inspiring stories. We strive to bring women together from around the globe in an effort to build strong relationships and support systems to achieve their goals. 

 6. Tell us about the Gala that will take place during the conference.

During our annual Gala we celebrate our women in business, recognize charitable organizations and present awards such as the Power Forward Diamond Community award. We have a dynamic line up of speakers as well as panelists.    There is also a chance for guests to make a charitable donation that will support educational programs, workshops, training, and a magnitude of work being done in our communities.  This year Power Forward Woman teamed up with Survivors with Voices and we look forward to building the bridge with many other organizations. The Gala is open to adult men and women.

Survivors On Purpose Inc.- Leslie Williams

Started the organization Survivors On Purpose because she is a 5 year breast cancer survivor. Stage 1 infiltrating ductal carcinoma breast cancer, pathology triple negative, changed her life forever. Triple Negative Breast Cancer is a confusing diagnosis with a frightening prognosis. She works diligently to model advocacy at its best. Breast cancer survivors need role models, too. She embraces several roles in her community she is a mentor, volunteer and educator to her colleagues.
She is also a proud member of the Junior League of Arlington as well as Power Forward Woman.

She is also involved in activities that bring attention to other women who are impacted by Triple Negative Breast Cancer. For her knowledge is power. Researching information about Triple Negative Breast Cancer made her feel empowered. During and after treatment she was not able to find any social groups for women who were diagnosed with T.N.B.C .After searching and coming up with no results she decided to start her own organization Survivors on Purpose.

 Leslie host events year round to constantly bring awareness to not just Triple Negative Breast Cancer but Breast Cancer as a whole. She has already began to accept speaking engagements for the month of October; which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Check out the interview below to learn more about Leslie Williams and Survivors on Purpose.

 

1. What is the Mission of Survivors on Purpose?

My mission is to change the legacy of breast cancer through peer-to-peer support, networking and education. Since I am an advocate of Breast Cancer Awareness  I make it my purpose to engage the people in my community.

2.What makes Survivors on Purpose different from other Breast Cancer awareness organizations? 

We strive to be more than just another breast cancer awareness organization. Our vision is to cultivate a Grassroots agenda – for survivors by survivors.  We want to expand our commitment to nurture the culture of inclusion by strengthening our capacity to support. We make it our goal to form meaningful relationships with new survivors of Triple Negative Breast Cancer . We also support those who are well along in their journey.

We are building a bridge to connect people to local and pertinent resources. These resources will include clinical research professionals, health screenings and breast cancer education. This will allow us to increase our network circle to ensure that the program stays relevant to women of all ages. Our ultimate goal is to reduce breast cancer risks, increase overall quality of life and reduce mortality from breast cancer.

3.    Why is Triple Negative Breast Cancer so hard to treat? 

Triple negative breast cancer occurs in about 10-20% of diagnosed breast cancers and is more likely to affect younger people, African Americans, Hispanics, and/or those with a BRCA1 gene mutation. A diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer means that the three most common types of receptors known to fuel most breast cancer growth–estrogen, progesterone, and the HER-2/neu gene– are not present in the cancer tumor. Thus making Triple Negative Breast cancer more aggressive and difficult to treat.  Also, the cancer is more likely to spread and recur.


The stage of breast cancer and the grade of the tumor will influence the prognosis. Research about triple negative breast cancer is relatively new. Researchers suspect that there are not one but several types of triple negative breast cancers. These genetic changes may make it difficult for scientists to develop a drug that will be effective for the majority of patients. Using chemotherapy to treat triple negative breast cancer is still an effective option.

4.    When did you discover that you had Breast Cancer?

I got my first baseline mammogram at the age of thirty-five which was normal. Afterwards I did not start my annual exams until the age of forty as per medical guidelines. In 2009 at the age of forty-one  I discovered a lump in my left breast ... I was one year shy of getting my 2nd annual mammogram.

5.    Did you face any obstacles during the treatment process? If so, how did you overcome them?

Thankfully I did not have obstacles that I could not overcome. My occupation is in Information Technology as a Quality Engineer. Fortunately for me I was insured with great benefits. I had lots of (PTO) Paid Time Off and sick days with a good FMLA program. Also my job allows for telecommuting. I was able to work from home when required.

 

6.    What message would you like to provide to women in the community?

My published Survivors’ Creed

-As Survivors We Have Choices.

-Choose to face your fears.

-Choose to fight.

-Choose to make a difference.

-Choose healing through education.

-Choose knowledge through discovery.

-Choose empowerment through understanding.

-Choose to make an impact through involvement.

-Choose LIFE ~ Survive On Purpose.

 

7.    Tell us about your Annual Chili Cook-Off.

I usually host our Annual Chili Cook Off fundraiser in March. The event is open to the general public and will offer a taste of some exceptional chili recipes, as well as activities for kids and adults. This annual event features a chili cook-off competition, as well as face painting, hot dog roast, a bounce house, games and more.

Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off and other fundraising efforts provide 100 percent of the money that Survivors On Purpose uses for workshops, expos, social activities and breast cancer education. This annual event strives to develop a loyal following across a diverse audience base because it is a fun, come-as-you-are spring party offering good food, entertainment and friendly competition.

8.    Are there any assumptions or misconceptions about Breast Cancer that you would like to shed some light on?

There are two popular misconceptions. The first popular misconception about breast cancer this that you cannot get it under thirty years of age. Also the other misconception is that women under the age of forty years of age are too young for a mammogram. The truth is that if your having breast issues and pain or close family members has had breast cancer in the past you may be considered high risk.

 Breast Cancer is very popular in women however men and young people are at risk. If breast cancer runs in your family you should have a serious conversation with your doctor about your risk factors. These factors will include but not limited to family history and genetics.
