Is a professional loving Make-up artist of special effects makeup and transformations. If she had the opportunity to be reborn again she would ask God to have her come back as  Make-up Artist. Her mother always told her that she was very creative and one day she would be recognized for her talents. 

Needless to say her mother was right because she is one talented individual with a very bright future ahead of her. This is just the beginning of recognition for Anel’s career with many more feature stories to come.

Anel Is also the owner of her own makeup studio which will open this April. Some of the services offered are Bridal make-up appointments, Special effects make-up and Quinceanera make-up appointments. Not only will she offer individual appointments she will also offer group training classes as well as individual and group make-up tutorials.  

Anel Anaya Lecona is a wife, mother and amazing businesswoman. Not only is Anel a professional make-up artist she is also a professional caterer. Anel can cook just about any traditional Mexican meal from scratch. Although Anel is an amazing cook her true passion is doing professional makeup.   

Anel’s journey to becoming a professional M.U.A started in California when she graduated from the Ruby Makeup Academy. She was able to attend this amazing academy because of a scholarship that she won. Anel is always thankful and considers all opportunities to showcase her work a blessing. She can transform anyone from Glamorous Beauty to a Gruesome Beast. 

Anel mentioned that too much beauty can become boring so she loves the chance to create something horrific and gruesome. Most of her Gruesome creations are showcased in church plays or movies. A few examples would be a scary devil for a local play or a bloody vampire for a movie.  All of Anel's work has a message or a deep meaning behind each creation.

What Inspired you to do Special Effects Makeup?

What inspired me to do special effects makeup is a long story but I'll give you the short version. Whenever someone would pass away either on my side of the family or someone else's I was always curious to see what they looked liked. I was never afraid of the dead bodies and I honestly wanted to bring them back to life through make-up.

 I wanted them to look amazing not your typical funeral make-up but my special touch. This was my first encounter with skin tones and learning to cover discoloration. I also loved as a child transforming my dolls from their factory make-up  into glamorous beauties using my special techniques. 

What is your favorite occasion to do make-up?

 I really don't have a favorite occasion to do make-up. I just love to do special effects make-up. My favorite holiday would be Halloween I love working on my scary creations. In my world there is not limits on my creations I can go wild and crazy or just create something soft/ natural. 

What is the inspiration behind your special effects/ fantasy makeup?

 I get inspired depending how I feel. Or by watching face off magazines even watching fantasy movies.

Who is your favorite celebrity and why?

My favorite celebrity is Johnny Depp. He can transform himself into anything not to mention he's a very talented actor. I would love to work with him one day transforming him into different characters is something I can see my self doing. I like the fact that he is very creative and he doesn't limits himself when it comes to taking on characters. In my world that means as a M.U.A. I wouldn't have any limits working with him.

Is there anything you would like for us to know about you?

 My clients can count on the horrifying transformation that they hired me for. I also do fantasy make-up for fashion shows , video shoots and themed parties.

Dial A Detail

The owners of Dial Detail Donald Stiggers and Adrian Blaylock are two young black males who aspire to do great things. The owners have known each other since grade school and are working towards one common goal which is success. These young men have combined their life experiences as well as their separate knowledge to create one extraordinary vision. They enjoy the fact that Dial Detail brings something new to their beloved city Dallas, Texas.

Donald is twenty five years old and was born and raised in Dallas Texas. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Business Management. He was raised with the mentality that one’s success can only be measured by that person. He has had dreams of becoming a Lawyer, Doctor and Professional Athlete. Since the age of fourteen he knew he would be the owner of a company but he never imagined that age twenty five it would happen. No matter how much he achieves in life he does his best to stay humble and hungry.

Adrian is a twenty five year old ex college athlete and he has attended three different colleges on a football scholarship. After realizing that he didn't have passion for sports or his major at the time which was Criminal Justice he decided to pursue his own business.  Adrian use to detail cars for money in high school and he loved vehicles so he used his skills to create Dial Detail. He wanted to start something that he loved doing and this is how Dial Detail was born.

Dial Detail is a mobile detailing service that primarily operates for the convenience of the customer. Their mission is to restore or uphold the elegance of their customer’s property when and where it is most convenient for them. Dial Detail aims to give a high quality of service while keeping their costs lower than the competition.

1.) How do you set yourself apart from the competition?

We set ourselves apart from our competitors by being able to come to you. If you go to a self-wash you will spend an average of about $7-$10, most likely have to wipe key areas on your vehicle to ensure it is clean and still have to clean the interior yourself. For our stationary competitors we feel we set ourselves apart by being able to come to you, and alter any package that we have. 

If you are at home we can clean your vehicle before your evening out. If you’re at work and don’t feel like being bothered with trying to set up an appointment for when you get off and get home to relax, we can detail your car without interrupting your work. Or if you’re simply just out running errands we can clean your vehicle and have you on your way which would give you time to focus on other necessities.

2.) Why do you think it’s important to be passionate about your business?

 It is important to have a passion in this field because you are performing a manual labor service outside. With no building to control the climate/temperature you must be patient and have to adapt to unforeseen issues every day. Without the passion driving you to get out of bed at an irregular time, or push you into unfavorable weather, it is doubtful that one could stay motivated to a level that ensures a hard work mentality every single day no matter what.

3.) What inspired you to start your own business?

We became entrepreneurs because we love the flexibility of being your own boss. We are part of a generation that wants to make more money, but also wants more vacations or time off in general. With Dial Detail we are kind of doing both by being able to work less hours a day and bring in the same amount or more money than our previous jobs. In a state that encourages growth and in dependency we felt it just took the right idea for us to build our starter company. 

4.) Are you running any specials at the moment?

 We do not have specials at the moment. We do give percentages off for those that are able to get more than two cars together to be washed at a specific location. We will have new special packages set up and huge promotion sales in the near future.

5.) What would you like for us to know about your business?

The service we offer would be more of a necessity for businesses such as car dealerships, or companies with a pickup service. Our service is more of a luxury than a necessity for individuals. Our customer base is primarily those who care about the appearance of their automobile more than the average person.

6.) If it wasn’t for (blank) you wouldn’t be who you are today?

If it wasn’t for the mistakes we have made in the past, the people we’ve encountered in our lifetime, our Christian beliefs, our loved ones that have always encouraged us, the obstacles that we’ve had to overcome we wouldn’t be Donald and Adrian. Everything in our lives that has happened to us plays a role in the way we have grown to become men.

Dedication to a task is probably the best way to insure success in performance, but when you are a single mother, dedication may not always be enough to get the job done. Often times you need patience, strength, love and support as well as dedication to keep yourself motivated and on track towards your goals as a woman and responsibilities as a mother.

Supermom, LaPorcia Mann, has seemingly balanced all of these key aspects as she pushes toward greatness in her life. A mother of three daughters, LaPorcia has admitted that being a working mother can be challenging.

“The hardest part about being a working mom is missing out on my daughters’ field trips and gymnastics classes,” Mann says. “To make up for this, I try to set aside time when I’m not working. I let each of my daughters choose something they want to do and then we go do it – no cell phones, emails, or phone calls – we just vibe out.”

LaPorcia Mann goes on to talk about a work-life balance that involves not losing yourself while wearing so many different hats within your family. In regard to staying fit, LaPorcia suggests clean eating and cardio at least three days a week. As far as “mommy time,” Mann gives advice on how to stay above water when you feel like you may want to give up.

“Just take things day by day and pray about every situation. Also, take time for yourself,” LaPorcia says. “Moms often get lost in the shuffle of life and we forget about ourselves – go get your nails done or get a good massage.”

Mann shared a look into her spiritual connection and faith by letting K.M.Speaks get insight into what keeps her grounded. When her life gets overwhelming, LaPorcia shared that she likes to read Psalms 34:17. She says that if it were not for her journey she would not be where or who she is today.

Another thing that seems to keep her grounded is family. While in Texas, she says that she and her daughters love to visit her parents, David and Tamela Mann.

“They are always asking to go to Granny and Papa’s house,” LaPorcia says.

And although they love to spend time with her parents, LaPocia talks about the most memorable times with her daughters being when they can all just sit down and have conversations.

Mann says, “You can learn about how your children feel with a simple conversation.”

As far as where she is on her journey, LaPorcia Mann tells K.M.Speaks that it is something she works toward constantly. She says that balance in her career and being a working mom is something that she is still trying to master.

“Some days go really smooth and some days I have to stop and take a breather,” LaPorcia shared. “A lot of prayer, coffee, and patience [are key to this balance as well].”

So it seems that it does take quite a lot to achieve successful balance of being a working mother in a modern world. All of the needs of health, children, family, work, and life, in general, can be stressful and hard to keep track of. LaPorcia Mann, however, has given us a K.M.Speaks a good starting formula.

       1.  Tell us about your business?

Hello beautiful people! My name is Shanesha and I absolutely love doing makeup.  There is nothing like transforming a person into whatever their heart desires.

Beauty By SMAQ was established in 2014. During the last year, I was featured in Encore HD Magazine,  which is sold nationally at Walmart and Barnes & Noble. I've had the honor of working in a multitude of fashion shows in Dallas.

  I even had the pleasure of working with celebrity designer Pink Lucy at one of her photoshoots. I specialize in natural, glam, weddings, face painting, or just a night out on the town.  I really love highlighting.  I love the glow that bounces off the cheekbones.

 I’ve been a fan of BH Cosmetics for the last 2 years.  It offers quality products for a reasonable price.

7. Do you believe that isn’t about the price of the product but the quality that matters?

 I totally believe in this.  I am all for the results I get with whatever product I am using.  I’ve never been big on labels or certain names.  I can make $5 foundation look like $50.

    8. Who is your favorite celebrity and why?

favorite celebrity is actually the dearly departed Michael Jackson.  I loved that he was a very caring person, not to mention the greatest entertainer to ever do it.

Dear Corrupt Spiritual Leaders:

My name is Terica R. Lee and last week I took one for the team. I took it upon myself to apologize for all the “bad apples” in the Kingdom. See I don’t mind taking one for the team because I love God and my love for God goes beyond your petty ways. In the bible it says go to your brother and sisters in Christ before you go to the Throne. This is me coming to you or better yet addressing my concerns with you.

 My heart goes out to every single person you have hurt… because of you born again Christians have lost Faith. My heart goes out to every single person you've kicked out your church due to their lifestyle. Fun FACT: By discriminating against non-believers the non- believer may never become a believer. I'm sure that fun fact I shared wasn't new to you.I’m not 100% sure some of you were called to Christ… I believe you saw an opportunity for power, fame and money. 

So you took it! What you didn’t realize was that being a Spiritual leader is not a game. You do not have the right to play games with people’s souls. You do not have the right to steal money from your members or demand MORE money while wearing the finest jewelry. I think you got your job confused with a thief or con-artist.To those who were called to Minister and allowed the fame and fortune to go to your head… you to have mistaken Kingdom work as a game as well.

Who gave you the authority to dress up on Sunday jump, shout and dance around?  Who authorized you to water down scriptures? Who authorize you to Baptist in the name of the Holy Spirit when you have bound the Holy Spirit in chains and won’t let your true light shine. Apparently you think the pulpit is a Theater see you park your lavish car where it can be seen by your members. You walk around with a entourage and your head held high while looking down on your members. You enter your stage a.k.a the pulpit and it’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!! 

This is were you get to show the world your acting skills and how good you are at PRETENDING to be Holy. Stop the Shenanigans the World is fed up! No one wants to go to church any more. Why are you passing around the offering plate 3-5 times in just a few hours. Again Stop the Shenanigans! You are truly mistaken if you think that because you get away with foolishness  multiple times a day then it’s okay. Your good works does not outweigh your selfish evil heart.

To my Pastors who sleep with his/ her members and think no one will confront you. It seems you may have gotten away with it for quite a while but your time is about to come to an abrupt end. You will be exposed and that fame and fortune will mean nothing compared to shame and your final fate. 

To the significant others of the Pastors God see’s you turning your head as your mate does ungodly things. So let me tell you a secret  you too will have the same fate. Wrong is Wrong and no lavish gift can change that.  Are you not tired of crying every night because you and your mate are living a lie? Aren’t you tired of being depressed but smiling on Sundays? Aren’t you tired?

If your truly tired then repent. Ask God to forgive you. Change your life around. Start living a holy life strive for perfection. Stop Playing games with people’s souls. Shut down the show you put on every Sunday. Walk in the light and stop hiding behind your title. If you accepted the calling then you accepted the challenges. Stop running and be true to your self and choose to do the right thing.

Apologize to your congregation and to your members. Bring all of your corruption to the light allow God to do some heart surgery on you. Allow him to make you pure again. Allow him to renew your mind , body and soul. If not then you will have a V.I.P. ticket with front row seats to join Satan and these tickets will be courtesy of the Kingdom of God.

Deon Q. Sanders is by far one of the most talented individuals I have met in some time. She is astounding and not to mention a  Quadruple threat. Deon is an Actor , Singer , Entertainer and source of Inspiration. She supports her local community and gives back with a self-less heart. She has a God given fire that will not allow her stop short of her goals. Although she has reached different levels of success she remains humble and down to earth. 

 On social media she is constantly motivating and inspiring her followers through her positive posts. Deon allows her light to shine through her daily posts titled #Afternoonmeditiaon and #Beforemyheadhitsthepillow. She is not only a motivator on social media  but is also very talented singer and actor. Her sultry singing and beauty alone will leave you hypnotized. Deon has performed just about all genres of music ranging from musicals to classic jazz.

 Deon will accept bookings for private parties, upscale restaurants and upscale events. Deon Q has performed at Dallas music venues Sandaga 813, The Balcony Club and Buttons.She has graced almost every type of stage from small events such as jazz clubs to performing in the Caribbean's along side Grammy Nominated artist Yarbrough and Peoples.Not to mention was interviewed by CNN(http://tinyurl.com/oskcg6s)  in an article paying tribute to the late Whitney Houston.  Deon also followed Grammy-winning artist Fantasia on the Chevy Main Stage of The Texas State Fair.

Among her many accomplishments, Deon Q has had the privilege of performing at the Bishop Arts and Margo Jones Theatres, as well as the Grand Prairie Uptown Theatre. Deon was casted as Lorell Robinson and Deena Jones for two productions of Dreamgirls.

This past Summer Deon starred in "The Color Purple Musical "at the Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas. This show sold out in weeks and the reviews were nothing less than spectacular.

What inspired you to become an actor?

I've always wanted to perform on stage either as an actor or singer.  I was inspired just from the feeling I had when I was able to be expressive onstage.  Of course seeing actors and singers on television was inspiring, but I loved how it made me feel.

What advice can you give to inspiring actors?

Decide what area you want to perform in; stage (general or musicals) or film. Cultivate your craft, invest in your craft with training, believe in your craft and own your craft.

What actor you admire the most?

Past: Lena Horne, she set the stage for African American actors, she was full of style,  determination and class

Present:  Phylicia Rashard:  Often said to look like her, I love her delivery in everything she has done.  Her on stage and off stage spirit says classy, it demands respect.

What mistake did you make as an actor that you would never make again?

The biggest mistake that I made as an actor would have to be not committing and preparing for my roles.

What is your favorite city to perform in and why?

I've only performed in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area..  I love the fact that my close family and friends are able to come and support me.

If you could grace any stage what would it be and why?

 Any stage in NYC on Broadway, on or off Broadway is the ultimate dream of an actor.  I makes you feel like you have "arrived.  It's also a great look on your resume'.

If you could perform with any celebrity who would it be and why?

Male:I would love to sing with Eric Benet.  I love the tone of his voice and I know our collaboration together would be great.

Female: I would love to sing with Ledisi.  She gives me chills when she sings.  She is very expressive and even as a R&B singer, her classical training is clear when she sings.  Although I haven't had the extensive training as she has, I would love to sing with her because she would appreciate the trained voice, as well as the "gifted" voice and people would accept it.

 Tell us about your next performance.

My next performance will take place on February 26 & 27, 2016 at the GG’s Theater located in side of Valley View Mall. The address is 13331 Preston Rd, Dallas Texas. I will be performing “The Vagina Monologues” alongside some amazing people. For ticket information please  Call 214-653-7583.
