With such a high demand for Makeup Artists in the fashion industry Beauty by SMAQ is sure to leave a lasting impression. The beauty behind the brand is no other than Shanesha The Queen. A plus sized fashion model turn professional make-up artist and business owner.

It’s not often that you meet someone who is fashion forward and confident, yet possesses a humble spirit. This is exactly the case for Shanesha the Queen, which is the reason why she carries the moniker Queen.This marks her second year in the Fashion Industry, and she has already accomplished many things.

As a makeup artist under her own award winning brand, Beauty By SMAQ, she has provided makeup services to many industry professionals.She has also had her work featured in national publication Encore HD Hair Magazine. Shanesha the Queen is a Dallas based makeup artist, model, and host. She recently became the host of Credence Radio which airs on Fishbowl Radio Network.

Queen doesn’t just stop there she is the official make-up artist for a local film Justice written and directed by Corta Ishman. 1. Tell us about your business?

Hello beautiful people! My name is Shanesha and I absolutely love doing makeup. There is nothing like transforming a person into whatever their heart desires.

Beauty By SMAQ was established in 2014. During the last year, I was featured in Encore HD Magazine, which is sold nationally at Walmart and Barnes & Noble. I've had the honor of working in a multitude of fashion shows in Dallas.

I even had the pleasure of working with celebrity designer Pink Lucy at one of her photoshoots. I specialize in natural, glam, weddings, face painting, or just a night out on the town. I am here to cater to you. Your makeup wish is my glam command.I love the saying "The creation of beauty is art." Your face is my canvas to create art.

2. What type of services do you offer?

I do everything from fashion shows, weddings, or just every day natural looks. I offer a variety of makeup services- even one on one sessions for those women who are new to wearing makeup and want more tips and pointers.My website

3. Which is your favorite event to book a fashion show or photo shoot?

I love fashion shows because I get to meet many different models, designers, etc. Also the fast paced environment gives me a challenge.

4. Are you running any specials?

Beauty By SMAQ has weekly specials such as TGIF where 2 beauties can get a full glam for $75. That runs every Friday. There are also promotions after a certain amount of services my clients will get a free session of their liking. Beauty By SMAQ has a lot to offer you definitely want to book us!

5. What is your favorite make-up trend of this season?

I really love highlighting. I love the glow that bounces off the cheekbones.

6. What is your favorite brand to use and why?

I’ve been a fan of BH Cosmetics for the last 2 years. It offers quality products for a reasonable price.

7. Do you believe that isn’t about the price of the product but the quality that matters?

I totally believe in this. I am all for the results I get with whatever product I am using. I’ve never been big on labels or certain names. I can make $5 foundation look like $50.

8. Who is your favorite celebrity and why?

favorite celebrity is actually the dearly departed Michael Jackson. I loved that he was a very caring person, not to mention the greatest entertainer to ever do it.

Dear Corrupt Spiritual Leaders:

My name is Terica R. Lee and last week I took one for the team. I took it upon myself to apologize for all the “bad apples” in the Kingdom. See I don’t mind taking one for the team because I love God and my love for God goes beyond your petty ways. In the bible it says go to your brother and sisters in Christ before you go to the Throne. This is me coming to you or better yet addressing my concerns with you.

My heart goes out to every single person you have hurt… because of you born again Christians have lost Faith. My heart goes out to every single person you've kicked out your church due to their lifestyle. Fun FACT: By discriminating against non-believers the non- believer may never become a believer. I'm sure that fun fact I shared wasn't new to you.I’m not 100% sure some of you were called to Christ… I believe you saw an opportunity for power, fame and money.

So you took it! What you didn’t realize was that being a Spiritual leader is not a game. You do not have the right to play games with people’s souls. You do not have the right to steal money from your members or demand MORE money while wearing the finest jewelry. I think you got your job confused with a thief or con-artist.To those who were called to Minister and allowed the fame and fortune to go to your head… you to have mistaken Kingdom work as a game as well.

Who gave you the authority to dress up on Sunday jump, shout and dance around? Who authorized you to water down scriptures? Who authorize you to Baptist in the name of the Holy Spirit when you have bound the Holy Spirit in chains and won’t let your true light shine. Apparently you think the pulpit is a Theater see you park your lavish car where it can be seen by your members. You walk around with a entourage and your head held high while looking down on your members. You enter your stage a.k.a the pulpit and it’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!!

This is were you get to show the world your acting skills and how good you are at PRETENDING to be Holy. Stop the Shenanigans the World is fed up! No one wants to go to church any more. Why are you passing around the offering plate 3-5 times in just a few hours. Again Stop the Shenanigans! You are truly mistaken if you think that because you get away with foolishness multiple times a day then it’s okay. Your good works does not outweigh your selfish evil heart.

To my Pastors who sleep with his/ her members and think no one will confront you. It seems you may have gotten away with it for quite a while but your time is about to come to an abrupt end. You will be exposed and that fame and fortune will mean nothing compared to shame and your final fate.

To the significant others of the Pastors God see’s you turning your head as your mate does ungodly things. So let me tell you a secret you too will have the same fate. Wrong is Wrong and no lavish gift can change that. Are you not tired of crying every night because you and your mate are living a lie? Aren’t you tired of being depressed but smiling on Sundays? Aren’t you tired?

If your truly tired then repent. Ask God to forgive you. Change your life around. Start living a holy life strive for perfection. Stop Playing games with people’s souls. Shut down the show you put on every Sunday. Walk in the light and stop hiding behind your title. If you accepted the calling then you accepted the challenges. Stop running and be true to your self and choose to do the right thing.

Apologize to your congregation and to your members. Bring all of your corruption to the light allow God to do some heart surgery on you. Allow him to make you pure again. Allow him to renew your mind , body and soul. If not then you will have a V.I.P. ticket with front row seats to join Satan and these tickets will be courtesy of the Kingdom of God.

Deon Q. Sanders is by far one of the most talented individuals I have met in some time. She is astounding and not to mention a Quadruple threat. Deon is an Actor , Singer , Entertainer and source of Inspiration. She supports her local community and gives back with a self-less heart. She has a God given fire that will not allow her stop short of her goals. Although she has reached different levels of success she remains humble and down to earth.

On social media she is constantly motivating and inspiring her followers through her positive posts. Deon allows her light to shine through her daily posts titled #Afternoonmeditiaon and #Beforemyheadhitsthepillow. She is not only a motivator on social media but is also very talented singer and actor. Her sultry singing and beauty alone will leave you hypnotized. Deon has performed just about all genres of music ranging from musicals to classic jazz.

Among her many accomplishments, Deon Q has had the privilege of performing at the Bishop Arts and Margo Jones Theatres, as well as the Grand Prairie Uptown Theatre. Deon was casted as Lorell Robinson and Deena Jones for two productions of Dreamgirls.

This past Summer Deon starred in "The Color Purple Musical "at the Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas. This show sold out in weeks and the reviews were nothing less than spectacular.

What inspired you to become an actor?

I've always wanted to perform on stage either as an actor or singer. I was inspired just from the feeling I had when I was able to be expressive onstage. Of course seeing actors and singers on television was inspiring, but I loved how it made me feel.

What advice can you give to inspiring actors?

Decide what area you want to perform in; stage (general or musicals) or film. Cultivate your craft, invest in your craft with training, believe in your craft and own your craft.

What actor you admire the most?

Past: Lena Horne, she set the stage for African American actors, she was full of style, determination and class

Present: Phylicia Rashard: Often said to look like her, I love her delivery in everything she has done. Her on stage and off stage spirit says classy, it demands respect.

What mistake did you make as an actor that you would never make again?

The biggest mistake that I made as an actor would have to be not committing and preparing for my roles.

What is your favorite city to perform in and why?

I've only performed in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.. I love the fact that my close family and friends are able to come and support me.

If you could grace any stage what would it be and why?

Any stage in NYC on Broadway, on or off Broadway is the ultimate dream of an actor. I makes you feel like you have "arrived. It's also a great look on your resume'.

If you could perform with any celebrity who would it be and why?

Male:I would love to sing with Eric Benet. I love the tone of his voice and I know our collaboration together would be great.

Female: I would love to sing with Ledisi. She gives me chills when she sings. She is very expressive and even as a R&B singer, her classical training is clear when she sings. Although I haven't had the extensive training as she has, I would love to sing with her because she would appreciate the trained voice, as well as the "gifted" voice and people would accept it.

Tell us about your next performance.

Broken But Not Destroyed Restoration is possible; By J.Monroe

Jackie Monroe Wilson is the CEO of J. Monroe Consulting and a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.Her professional experience spans over twenty years in areas such as business, education, and healthcare. She also has experience in public relations as well as law and mortgage.

She also serves as a business consultant providing services for new entrepreneurs and small businesses owners.
Her main focus is to be a career coach for clients who seek assistance with developing their professional brand, and implementing strategies that will help them increase their level of “Success-Ability”.

She recently released her first book, Broken But Not Destroyed: Restoration Is Possible. This book tells of the tragedies and violations she suffered through, the mistakes she made and how she was restored to a place where she could grow to be the woman she is today. It is intended to inspire and empower others to be bold enough stand strong in the midst of adversity and continue to move forward toward victory. Her primary message is “Brokenness doesn’t have to be permanent if you have the courage to pick up the pieces of your life and move on.”

Other activities include being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as well as an Alliance Member for Genesis Women’s Shelter, and Board Member for Infinite Wisdom Ministries.

1. Tell us about your book Broken but Not Destroyed.

Broken But Not Destroyed; Restoration Is Possible is a book that is a testament of the life-changing and life-threatening situations I encountered. These experiences occurred from my childhood to adulthood that broke me emotionally, mentally and physically. At the age of 13 I was cleaning my mother's bullet wounds years later I was kidnapped and held at gunpoint. I have encounter so many trials in my life from the kidnapping I mentioned above to a devastating divorce not to mention domestic abuse. With that being said this book is not only a testimony to my life but I'm hoping it will be a source of inspiration to the readers.

In my book " Broken But Not Destroyed; Restoration is possible" I candidly open up my most private thoughts and feelings. I'm sharing these experiences with the world so that others can overcome these situations. Going through these life trials has made me grow on so many levels and I want to inspire others by my personal story.

2. What do you hope that your readers will gain from reading your story?

I hope that readers will find the underlying messages, "What's broken can be fixed. What's destroyed is lost forever" and "Brokenness doesn't have to be permanent if you have the courage to pick up the pieces of your life and move on."

3. It took you seven years to write this book. Why did it take you so long to publish your book?

I struggled with whether to publish some of the things I discuss in the book. I wanted to protect people's feelings and didn't want to hurt anyone by telling "my" story. I started and stopped quite a few times. Ultimately, I had to finish what God had assigned me to do. I knew that this was a bold move for me and I would be sacrificing my privacy. This book took awhile to write but I knew that my story would impact lives so it's something I had to complete.

4. You revealed some personal things about yourself. What advice can you give to those who have suffered abuse, molestation or infidelity?

All of those things tend to thrust people who are affected by them into a "victim" category. My advice would be for them to Acknowledge, Accept and Heal.
(1) Acknowledge-What has happened to you. look the experience in the face and acknowledge that it happened.

(2) Accept- It is very important to accept what has happened to us as well as it is to accept any personal responsibility, if any. Accept that life has trials and tribulations and not every experience is fair but by accepting that it was a part of your past or present is the next step to overcoming a horrible experience.

(3) Give yourself permission to heal- The healing process won't begin until you take the first two steps and then allow yourself to go through the healing process, which can be painful, just like physical healing. Once you get through these phases you will be able to transition from victim to survivor.

5. If you could change anything in your past what would it be and why?

I wouldn't suppress my feelings, I would never try to change anyone because people have to change themselves and I would be much more selective about the relationships I choose to engage in.

6. Why do you think God broke you all the way down before he could restore you?

This was the only way He could draw me closer to him.... there is a saying " God will break you all the way down and rebuild you" and that is exactly what I believe he did for me. He is now able to use me for a bigger purpose. As a motivational speaker I can now tell my story and use my experience as a testimony to inspire those who have encounter similar trials.

Spoken Word Poet: Kendall

Kendal Turner

Kendal has garnered a reputation for being a quiet storm in the spoken word community as a soft spoken, bowtie wearing, force to be reckoned with. When Kendal isn’t busy saving souls, her other full time gig is being the coolest mom on the planet to two amazing sons. It is important that art imitates life. All art forms – dance, song, painting, etc. – need honesty in expression.Honesty in her art, therefore, is not an option, but a calling. Kendal Turner is a poet who believes that our gift of art is an expression of God and his personified being.

As a mother, speaker, and artist, Turner works hard to balance all of her hats. She has done lots of events with celebrities. Kendal Turner has also done smaller events where she speaks to the youth.

Overall, she loves her craft – writing. Besides poetry, she has written an autobiography and worked on a line of t-shirts. She is working to expand her brand to reach more individuals. If interested, you should check out the interview with Kendal below.

What inspires you to write?

Every poem I have ever written was inspired by either something I have gone through, currently going through, or someone around me is going through. I can only write non-fiction poetry.

Why do you think people should express themselves in some type of art?

I believe the gifts we use are God trying to express himself through us, no matter what that gift is. Whether it is gardening, painting or writing, we have to work with the gifts so that we can inspire, motivate and encourage other people to do the same. Art is simply God in art form. It has to express itself.

What is your favorite motivational quote and why?

My favorite quote is "To thine ownself be true". My father used to say this to me as a little girl, and I never quite understood it until he passed away. If we are not true to ourselves we are in essence living a lie.

Tell us about your latest piece.

My latest piece is about purpose. I initially started writing it to encourage others to follow their dreams, hold to the vision, and keep the faith. After I finished it, the poem ministered to me. I was more encouraged reading it for myself than I have any other poem I've ever written. It was prophetic -exactly what I needed to hear.

The inspiration behind my latest piece was watching poets and other artists compete with one another. It upset me. It's almost as if some think there isn't enough for everyone to go around – like we don't all have something special to offer the world. I was frustrated with the egos and competition. So, the poem started out about competition but ended up being about purpose.

What goals would you like to accomplish within the next 3 years?

Within the next 3 years, my main goal is to see my autobiography “Thick Skin” turned into a movie. I would also like for my t-shirt line to be in Wal-Mart. Within the next 3 years I plan on being a household name.
