Step Two Nurturing your spiritual garden.
2. Feed your Spirit.
Did you know that a person can survive 3
weeks without food as long as they have a water supply? Yes, they will live however they are
going to be irritated, have a lack of nutrients, get sick easily, they will be
very skinny and unhealthy looking. This is what happens when you only give your
body water. In other words you can pray and still nurture your spiritual
garden. But in order for you to fully nurture your garden you must feed it.
This is when the word of God comes into play the fertilizer for your spiritual
garden.
Let's say that you have soil that lack nutrients...take some fertilizer and mix it with the soil. When you plant a seed the fertilizer is a extra source of nutrients for the plant. What the original soil was lacking now has an abundance of nutrients. In other words what your soul lacks the word of God can feed and restore. The bible is a abundance of nutrients that your spirit needs to grow. The picture of above is a example of a seed that was planted with fertilizer and a seed that was planted without fertilizer. If you can see the difference in the plants... trust and believe other Christians can see the difference in you.
By feeding your spirit you will flourish and be healthy in Christ. Once you feed your spirit allow the word of God to be absorb into your soul, into your life, and into who you are. Remember that “22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23. Your spiritual fruit are characteristics of Christ in order to nurture them you must pray and feed them the word of God.
