Four Steps to Nurturing your Spiritual Garden: 1.Water Your Garden

Have you ever read Galatians 5:22-23 “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” And thought to yourself  I really need to work on some of those traits. If so then you just made the first step in nurturing your spiritual garden. Which is acknowledging which seeds you need to plant!  Remember that different fruits blossom in different seasons.  So don't feel obligated to plant all your seeds at one time.

If the Holy Spirit has convicted you telling you that you need to work in a certain area. It is the season to work on it! Go to God and talk to him through prayer about what you need to work on. This is creating a foundation for your spiritual  fruit to grow. Now that the seed has been planted. It is time to nurture it. Nurturing your spiritual garden isn’t just about prayer and reading your bible.  It’s about removing footholds and trusting God’s timing.

Step One to nurturing your spiritual garden.

1.      Water Your Garden.

Watering you spiritual garden is very important. The water or life line to your garden is prayer. Water is important to plants because it cools the plant when the sun dries it out. The roots store water to replenish the plant when there isn’t an abundance of water. Water is also used to absorb nutrients from the soil and to transport them through the plants body. Your water supply is simply prayer. By praying you are storing up the word of God for the days you are not able to replenish yourself. When you store up the word of God the Holy Spirit can Refresh it self. The roots of a plant store water and the Holy Spirit stores the word of God.

What do you think happens when prayer is absorb into your daily routine? The answer is simply you are constantly refreshing yourself. Prayer is the life line between you and God it refreshes you. Have you ever seen a plant that begins to die because it hasn’t had any water? It becomes brown and starts to become limp eventually it dries up. Did you know that other people can notice when you haven’t watered your spiritual garden.

They see you showing characteristics that are not of Christ. They see turning into the person that God delivered you of … they see your light diming out. If you can water your spiritual garden every day or atleast every other day. Just know that you can never over water the Holy Spirit. The more you water it the better it will be able to transport the word of God through you. Once the Holy Spirit can manifest through your veins God will use you to transform lives.
