Four Steps to Nurturing your Spiritual Garden: 3. Remove the Weeds from your Garden.

3. Remove the Weeds from your Garden.

Do you know why gardeners remove weeds from their garden?  Weeds have to be removed from a garden because they can be harmful to the plants. They can harbor pests that can prey on the plants and transmit harmful diseases. Some of the pests can be harmful to humans and animals. If you choose not remove the weeds they will spread through your garden and absorb the nutrients from the other plants.
By removing the weeds from your garden you able to keep your garden healthy. So what happens if you allow weeds to be present in your spiritual garden.  The same thing will happen the weeds will drain all your nutrients in other words your energy. They will have pests that can harmful to you such as negative people, negative situations and negative outcomes. If you do not remove them they will spread throughout your life affecting you and everyone around you. Remove the weeds in your life whether  it’s a person, place or thing. Take care of your spiritual garden by removing anything that can be harmful to you.
.Remember that  “22  The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23. Your spiritual fruit are characteristics of Christ in order to nurture them you must pray and feed them the word of God. As well as remove any weeds that you see taking root in your garden. Protect your spirit from danger. Do not allow weeds to take root in your life!  Remember that weeds hinder that growth of plants... don't let anything hinder your spiritual growth.

Four Steps to Nurturing your Spiritual Garden: 2. Feed your Spirit.

Step Two  Nurturing your spiritual garden.
2. Feed your Spirit.

Did you know that a person can survive 3 weeks without food as long as they have a water supply?  Yes, they will live however they are going to be irritated, have a lack of nutrients, get sick easily, they will be very skinny and unhealthy looking. This is what happens when you only give your body water. In other words you can pray and still nurture your spiritual garden. But in order for you to fully nurture your garden you must feed it. This is when the word of God comes into play the fertilizer for your spiritual garden.

Let's say that you have soil that lack nutrients...take some fertilizer and  mix it with the soil.  When you plant a seed the fertilizer is a extra source of nutrients for the plant. What the original soil was lacking now has an abundance of nutrients. In other words what your soul lacks the word of God can feed and restore. The bible is a abundance of nutrients that your spirit needs to grow. The picture of above is a example of a seed that was planted with fertilizer and a seed that was planted without fertilizer.  If you can see the difference in the plants... trust and believe other Christians can see the difference in you.

By feeding your spirit  you will flourish and be healthy in Christ. Once you feed your spirit allow the word of God to be absorb into your soul, into your life, and into who you are. Remember that  “22  The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23. Your spiritual fruit are characteristics of Christ in order to nurture them you must pray and feed them the word of God.

Four Steps to Nurturing your Spiritual Garden: 1.Water Your Garden

Have you ever read Galatians 5:22-23 “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” And thought to yourself  I really need to work on some of those traits. If so then you just made the first step in nurturing your spiritual garden. Which is acknowledging which seeds you need to plant!  Remember that different fruits blossom in different seasons.  So don't feel obligated to plant all your seeds at one time.

If the Holy Spirit has convicted you telling you that you need to work in a certain area. It is the season to work on it! Go to God and talk to him through prayer about what you need to work on. This is creating a foundation for your spiritual  fruit to grow. Now that the seed has been planted. It is time to nurture it. Nurturing your spiritual garden isn’t just about prayer and reading your bible.  It’s about removing footholds and trusting God’s timing.

Step One to nurturing your spiritual garden.

1.      Water Your Garden.

Watering you spiritual garden is very important. The water or life line to your garden is prayer. Water is important to plants because it cools the plant when the sun dries it out. The roots store water to replenish the plant when there isn’t an abundance of water. Water is also used to absorb nutrients from the soil and to transport them through the plants body. Your water supply is simply prayer. By praying you are storing up the word of God for the days you are not able to replenish yourself. When you store up the word of God the Holy Spirit can Refresh it self. The roots of a plant store water and the Holy Spirit stores the word of God.

What do you think happens when prayer is absorb into your daily routine? The answer is simply you are constantly refreshing yourself. Prayer is the life line between you and God it refreshes you. Have you ever seen a plant that begins to die because it hasn’t had any water? It becomes brown and starts to become limp eventually it dries up. Did you know that other people can notice when you haven’t watered your spiritual garden.

They see you showing characteristics that are not of Christ. They see turning into the person that God delivered you of … they see your light diming out. If you can water your spiritual garden every day or atleast every other day. Just know that you can never over water the Holy Spirit. The more you water it the better it will be able to transport the word of God through you. Once the Holy Spirit can manifest through your veins God will use you to transform lives.

Be Blessed in all that you do,

1. Tell us the meaning behind the name P.F.W.?
Power Forward Woman embodies the spirit of being able to power our way forward regardless of the obstacles and roadblocks that we may encounter.  As women we have to juggle so many things on a daily basis and sometimes place our goals on the back burner, but I want women across America to know that we don't have to do that.  As they say it takes a village to raise a child, I believe that it takes a strong sisterhood to enable our sisters the confidence to be able to reach for their personal and professional goals.

2. How many states are you currently operating in? How did you spread P.F.W. so fast in such a short amount of time?
We currently operate in TX, VA, LA, and soon CA.  We were able to spread the word so fast due to the fact that I am in the military and able to network with woman from around the globe.  In addition to being in the military we also host a series of events designed around networking with women and in the community.

3. What inspired you to create this organization?
Over the past years, the networking events went from starting as an organization to becoming a Power Forward Woman Movement! This miraculous Movement encompasses a group of women dedicated to reaching common goals, becoming empowered, empowering others while growing in number and in deeds. The Power Forward Woman Movement was created on the premise that women across America would be given the opportunity to network and share their inspiring stories. We strive to bring women together from around the globe in an effort to build strong relationships and support systems to achieve their goals.

4. What is the process for joining P.F.W.
In order for someone to join as a member they must submit an application for screening to be sure they are a right fit for our organization.  Once their application is approved an annual membership fee of $100 is due.  Members can also join under Chapter Leaders in the Dallas, Texas area.  More information can be found on our website:
